Travel Grants & Travel Awards
We are delighted to announce the following awards and travel grants at Europhysiology 2022:
Conference Attendance Award by The Physiological Society
All Physiological Society members in their second year of membership can apply.
This includes membership transitions, i.e. a member 6 months into their Postgraduate membership, where they had previously been an Undergraduate and Masters Member in this period immediately before.
Levels of funding are:
- Undergraduate and Master’s Members: £100
- Postgraduate Members: £250
- Full Members: £375
- Fellow Members: £375
Funding can be used to attend and present at a Physiological Society conference, with expenses being reimbursed upon provision of receipts, following attendance at the agreed meeting.
The deadlines for application is 31 July 2022.

Travel Grants by the Scandinavian Physiological Society
If you are a master student, a PhD student or a post doc you may apply for a travel grant to participate in this year’s SPS meeting – Europhysiology 2022. Other scientists can also apply, but students will be prioritised. Successful applicants will be awarded reimbursement of a maximum sum of 10.000 SEK for expenses to cover the following: Conference fee, travel, accommodation and official conference dinner.
Application deadline is 25 May 2022. You will receive an answer to your application by 15 June or at latest 15 July (waiting list).
You must be a member of the SPS in order to apply, but you may apply for membership simultaneously by filling in the Membership Application Form.
This form should be sent by email to contact@scandphys.org as soon as possible, no later than 25 May 2022. A scientific relation to one of the Nordic countries is required to be eligible for SPS membership. Please indicate briefly in the application email who you are, where you work, and the nature of your Nordic connection.
Grants will be awarded by the SPS Executive Committee according to the following priorities:
- Participants presenting at the conference (oral or poster)
- Participants attending both a special interest group (SIG) satellite symposia and the main conference
- Master, PhD students and postdocs
- Applicants with current SPS membership with dues paid, or lifetime members
- New SPS member applicants

Travel Awards 2022 by the Federation of European Physiological Societies
FEPS will provide 10 travel grants (250 € each) for early career physiologists to support their active participation in the Europhysiology 2022 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Preference will be given to master and PhD students and those in their first postdoctoral position. Applicants should have a poster or oral presentation at the meeting and provide the following documents by 30 June 2022 to the Secretary General of FEPS, Professor Bayram Yilmaz by e-mail (info@feps.org).
Required documents include:
- CV
- Accepted abstract to be presented at the meeting
- Registration
- Support letter from the supervisor or department head indicating the need for travel support

Travel Grants by the German Physiological Society (DPG)
The DPG awards 35 travel grants of 700 € each to attend the Europhysiology Meeting 2022 in Copenhagen.
All members of the following categories who can proof an active participation (first or presenting abstract author) are eligible to apply:
- Category 1: MD PhD students (without remuneration)
- Category 2: PhD students with remuneration (if funds are still available)
- Category 3: Postdocs (if funds are still available)
The decision will be made on the basis of the abstract grading by the program commission, prioritized by category.
